Printing Guide

How to Print Your Fingering Chart Poster

A few quick things to check before you print, so your poster comes out crisp, correctly sized, and ready to hang.

Before You Print

  • ✓ Print at Actual Size. Always choose “Actual Size” or “100%” in your print settings — never “Fit to Page” or “Shrink to Fit,” which will scale the poster down to whatever paper is loaded.
  • ✓ Check the page size. The file is built at 36″ x 24″ (approximately 91.5 x 61 cm). Confirm this in your PDF viewer’s document properties before sending it anywhere to print.
  • ✓ Resolution. The file is set at a resolution that prints crisp at full size — posters are viewed from a few feet away, so no extra prep is needed here.
  • ✓ Color mode. RGB works fine for most consumer print shops. If a shop specifically asks for a print-ready CMYK file, let them know and they can typically convert it on their end.

Step-by-Step

  1. Download the PDF

Click the download link and save the fingering chart PDF to your device.

  2. Confirm the page size

Open the file and check its document properties — it should show 36 x 24 in (approximately 91.5 x 61 cm).

  3. Choose where to print

Take it to a local print shop, upload it to an online poster printing service, or tile-print it at home. This size isn’t a standard stock size outside the US and Canada, so ask for a custom-size print rather than a standard “poster” size.

  4. Select “Actual Size” in print settings

This is the step people miss most, anywhere in the world.

Always choose “Actual Size” or “100%” — never “Fit to Page.”
  5. Pick your paper

Matte poster paper is the standard, affordable choice. Ask about semi-gloss or photo paper for a nicer finish if you want to spend a bit more.

  6. Pick up or have it shipped

In-store orders are usually ready same-day; online poster services typically ship within a few days, longer for international shipping.
